Christine Carter-Davis

Founder and CEO of Against All Odds Foundation
Motivational Speaker

Biography

A highly sought out motivational speaker, Christine Carter-Davis is the epitome of succeeding...Against All Odds. Orphaned at age seven after losing both parents to substance abuse and AIDS, Carter-Davis knows first hand the challenges young people face. Abused, neglected, homeless and destined to fail, her story is one of many. Yet, Carter-Davis stood tall in the face of adversity and charted her own path.

Christine candidly shares her journey with others and has been able to captivate diverse audiences large and small. Her gritty depiction of her past is the prelude to a present filled with unlimited hope and possibilities.

The first generation in her family to attend an Institute of Higher Learning, Carter-Davis earned her Bachelors Degree (Suma Cum Laude) in Social Work from Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia. Upon graduation, Christine returned to New Jersey to give back to the same child welfare system that had once given to her - The Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS). Carter-Davis would later go on to earn her Master’s Degree in Business Administration and is currently pursuing her second Master’s degree in Public Administration.

Christine’s personal desire to give back to the underserved prompted her to create and launch the Against All Odds Foundation, a not-for-profit multi-service agency dedicated to serving at-risk children and families throughout the State of New Jersey. This twenty-nine year old CEO independently created an agency from the ground up at the age of 24 and today oversees a full time staff of 10 and part time staff of over 150 employees. Carter-Davis is the creative force behind the agency’s many programs.

Carter-Davis has secured lucrative contracts from various institutions, including State and Local Governments, other non-profit organizations and business entities. Her vision has led to the agency’s steady growth and earnings of over $1 million in unrestricted revenues. Her success has quickly catapulted her as a leader amongst her peers in the non-profit, social service and educational arenas.

In fact, Christine’s leadership ability and her commitment to the vulnerable recently resulted in the City of Newark’s Partnership with the organization and further prompted Mayor Cory Booker of Newark to pledge his support of this Newark native. “We are proud of [Carter-Davis] who gives hope, empowerment and love to our beloved brick city,” says Mayor Booker.

In addition to overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Against All Odds Foundation, Carter-Davis serves on various Boards and Commissions including but not limited to; The East Orange Public Library, Sierra House, Inc., and the Irene Myrenda Scholarship Foundation.

Christine is a member of the Junior League Montclair-Newark, The New York National Speakers Association, Orange-Essex Jaycees and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. Additionally, Christine consults both non-profit and business leaders on successful program strategies from development, implementation and expansion.

She has been described as “fearless, steadfast and on a mission.” One who rejects “no” as an answer, Christine sees the impossible as her longest adversary---and enters the arena to defeat it time and time again. Social Worker, Child Advocate, Public Servant, Entrepreneur, Motivational Speaker, Wife and Mother, Christine Carter-Davis is ready to inspire you!

When asked what motivates her to serve others, Carter-Davis unequivocally responds, “I live this, I breathe this… it pulsates thru my veins.”

Christine is happily married to Gary Davis, they reside in East Orange, NJ with their two children and dog Rokie.
