Dr. Connie Guttersen, R.D., Ph.D., author of the New York Times best selling book The Sonoma Diet and its companion book, The Sonoma Diet Cookbook,
is a leading expert on the health benefits of World Cuisines inspired
by the Mediterranean, Latin America, and Asia. She has spoken on the
many aspects of Flavor as a health issue, including ideal food
combinations, childhood and adult obesity, related health concerns, and

garnered coast-to-coast media attention, and she has discussed her food
philosophy to considerable acclaim in dozens of television venues,

Dr.
Guttersen delivers key nutrition messages to food industry and health
professionals by bringing together the art and science of food. As a
registered dietitian and nutrition instructor at the Culinary Institute
of America, Dr. Guttersen has spent her career focusing on the
development of flavorful and nutritious approaches to healthy eating
and menu development. She teaches chefs to select healthier choices in
preparing their cuisine while preserving culinary integrity.
Her
many accomplishments include developing the Standards of Care for the
Obesity Treatment Center in Bellevue, WA as well as serving as a
nutrition consultant for a broad range of corporations and Fortune 500
companies such as Kraft, Nestle, Sodexho, Marriott, Radisson Hotels,
Hyatt Classic Residences, and Panera Bakery Café. As a key note speaker
for the American Heart Association, GO RED FOR WOMEN, and the recipient
of the Green Honors Chair from Texas Christian University, she
continues to influence both students and health professionals for their
professional endeavors.
Dr. Guttersen is fluent in English,
Spanish and Italian and lives in the beautiful wine country region of
Napa Valley, with her husband and two children.
