Biography
Peter Zheutlin is an experienced public
speaker and a freelance journalist whose work appears frequently in The Boston
Globe. He has also written for The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, AARP
Magazine and dozens of other newspapers and magazines in the United States and
abroad.
Peter’s lively and richly illustrated PowerPoint presentation tells the story
of his great-grandaunt, a Jewish housewife and mother who transformed herself
into the first international female sports celebrity when she cycled around the
world in 1894-5. Peter’s presentation includes many original images Annie
herself used to illustrate lectures she gave about her travels.. Included are
several rare photographs of 19th century Jerusalem. The presentation can be
tailored for adult audiences, children of all ages, or audiences comprising both
children and adults.
